They say honesty is the best policy but people lie to themselves all the time. I’m going to do something only your momma, best friends, or your significant other are willing to do; I’m going to tell you the straight up truth. You are not very good at advertising. I don’t care what Canva has you believing, your graphic design skills are not drawing the house. Your phone can take a great picture, but the problem is you’re composing it. And video? That 30 second clip you wanted takes a lot more than that to shoot, edit, upload, and tag. If you are good at any of those elements you take too long composing them. So no, you are not good at being a designer. But here’s another truth. IT DOESN’T MATTER. If you were good at that stuff your business would be designing, not doing and selling what your business is built around. “Good enough” is never good when it comes to your money. You need to invest in a professional to get the visual assets you need so that your branding doesn’t become a liability. But don’t just let this paragraph of text convince you.
